Is Your Relationship Based on Need or Love?

Men's best selling colognes. Updated hourly.

Is your desire to be with a person driven by need or love? Do you need to be with them or do you want to be with them? Do you have to be with them or do you choose to be with them?

Here are the differences.

Based on need

If you feel these emotions when you’re not with your partner or when they haven’t contacted you for a while, your relationship with them is likely based on need.

  • Anxiety
  • Insecure
  • Lonely
  • Afraid
  • Sad

Based on love

If you feel these emotions when you’re not with your partner or when they haven’t contacted you for a while, your relationship with them is probably based on love.

  • Relaxed
  • Confident
  • Content
  • Brave
  • Happy

Only you can decide if your relationship is based on need or love. If your relationship is based on need, consider taking a break from it until you gain the qualities listed above under “based on love.” You’ll be proud of yourself if you do. And your relationship will be much better as well.
